Every Blogger wants to increase the popularity of his/her blog, but how? Obviously the traffic generation for a blog is really different from a traditional website – No matter what Blogging platform you are using – Blogger or WordPress. If all of them hosted in their own server, then the promotional methods are separate from a personally hosted blog. You can do lots of things in your personally hosted blog but when they hosted in their own servers, then you are in big trouble. You must know the alternative promotional techniques to promote your blog. You must follow those rules, which can enhance your Blog’s search engine visibility (surprisingly, Blogger has tendency to get more visible in Google than others). From here another question comes – you need targeted traffic but there are hundreds of SEO methods and thousands of strategies to complete those methods. The situation is confusing for new and pro Blogger too.

Generating traffic for Blogs is not a very big deal for a Blogger if you know some basic things about the blog promotion. If you are a pro Blogger, you can follow the methods for better traffic generation for your blog.

Content Is King – remember “content Is King”, Blogger is not beyond of that. You must offer – fresh, unique and informative content to your audience, So that you can grow their interest about the subject and penetrate them to read the whole story. Because reader knows Blogger is a solid platform for perfect knowledge. Additionally, if you are writing something about non-technical, then you choose the hot recent topics, controversial topics and try to involve your readers with questions and reviews.

Blog Design – usually, Blogger offers pre-designed templates for their users. They are good, but if you want to show yourself as a different Blogger than others, then you must design your own blog by hiring a professional web designer or purchase a template for your blog. This way, you can clearly distinguish your presence in Blogger world.

Comment On Other Blogs And Allow Comments In Your Blog – posting fresh content is not enough, engaging your readers with asking something or commenting is also essential for good traffic. For example – if someone find something very useful regarding your post in other blog and he/she post the link of that blog along with the reference, then surely you’ll connected with that blog and fetch some readers from them alternatively some of your visitors will get enhanced result about the topics. Remember, you comments in other Blogs must add some value, it is rather better idea – just not post any generic comment instead of that, take a part of the conversation.

Guest Blogger – guest Blogger is a relatively new concept in Blogger world that means you allow some experts to post some of their expertise to give a chance to your reader to get something very useful from experts. You can do it by two simple methods – first, communicate with other Blogger or blog owners ad invite them to post something into your blog, second way is – invite some of your readers to post articles into your blog. This way you can seriously increase your Blog’s traffic.

Create And Submit Webinar And Podcast – both of them are relatively new concept in Blogger arena to share the ideas and reaching to your audience. Podcast is audio only promotional method, where as Webinar is audio-visual media to share ideas on behalf of a Blogger. There are lots of open source and free software available over Internet; using them you can create them easily. After creating the Podcast and Webinar, submit them into high traffic Podcast and Webinar submission sites. Users download them, listen and view them; finally come into your blog. If you are intended to create Podcast, then don’t forget to submit them into iTunes. It is a great place for Blogger to get noticed.

Submit Videos – no matter, whether you are writing a technical article or something else in Blogger, you can create a video to demonstrate your skills and concepts. If you are writing about something technical, you can use Wink or similar open source software for screen capture to create the video, otherwise try PowerPoint or any other tool to demonstrate the concept and finally post the video into video sharing sites with your niche keywords. This is a magical method for every Blogger to grab traffic from video sites.
